Alison Pickett joins SYSTRA in Dublin

Alison Pickett has joined SYSTRA to lead and develop its Sustainable Travel and Mobility Management capabilities in Ireland.

Alison makes the move back home to Dublin from the UK, where she was Head of Sustainable Travel at Transport for West Midlands (TfWM). There Alison was responsible for increasing the market share of sustainable and active travel through engagement with local employers, education sites, job centres and community groups. She provided leadership and programme management for all these Smarter Choices initiatives, part of the £50m+ West Midlands-wide Smart Network, Smarter Choices programme. Alison also led on the development of the West Midlands Cycling Charter (to increase cycling to 5% of trips), including managing comprehensive stakeholder and public consultation and successfully gaining Executive and Political approval for the Charter principles and its ambitious vision.

She says “It’s great to be back in Ireland, and to be working for SYSTRA as I knew many of their staff when they helped deliver programmes for TfWM. It’s an exciting time to be promoting mobility management and sustainable travel in Ireland; we have a great opportunity to embed healthy and environmentally friendly travel choices in our communities.”
