SYSTRA has been involved in transport payment and ticketing schemes since pioneering work in in the late 1980s that established fully integrated public transport networks based on magnetic stripe cards. More recently, our work has focussed on developing and implementing ticketing schemes based upon smart card technology across the UK.

Our advice covers all stages of schemes ranging from feasibility and business case advice, through specification, procurement and contract award to hands-on system implementation, testing and validation.

We provide technical and commercial advice to a broad range of clients that includes national government, local government, government/operator partnerships, transport operators and system suppliers.
